issues of the rats in the experimental group showed pathological changes similar to those of ”new BPD”, including a decrease in the number of alveoli and a gradual loss of the normal structure of the alveoli; enlargement and fusion of the alveolar cavities, with some of them showing atrophy; a significant widening of the alveolar septum and even some of them showing rupture, with inflammation or exudate visible in the tissues. In the control group: the number of alveoli gradually increased, the morphology became regular and the alveolar septum became thinner (see Figure 1).
