METHODS
The research in question is an observational, transversal, descriptive,
and quantitative study. Data collection was carried out in cities in the
interior of São Paulo using an online questionnaire, based on the
Hamilton Anxiety Scale and the main symptoms of binge eating defined by
the Brazilian Society of Neuropsychology, composed of 16 direct
questions for the people interviewed. about the theme of the
relationship between anxiety and binge eating during quarantine
[13].
The questionnaire was developed specifically for this study by the
authors of this study, during the month of May 2020 and was available
for answers during the months of May, June, and July 2020. In addition,
the informed consent form was duly applied. Through it, an extensive and
direct observation was made on the subject, obtaining data from 944
people of different age groups, sex, occupations, and cities in the
interior of São Paulo.
